Right Thought

     Grandmaster JinBodhi illustrated the word zheng nian, which translates to “right thought,” in a beautiful calligraphy. His wish is that this creation be a reminder to maintain right thought and action as a way to lead a happy and meaningful life.

     In our journey through life, we must always maintain right thought and remind ourselves to love and care unconditionally for all those around us. We must do no harm. Only with such wholesome thought can we continually take right action to bring happiness to all.

Welcome Home

    Though we may travel far and wide, poet Rainer Maria Rilke tells us that “the only journey is the one within.” It is through journeying toward self-knowledge that we come to greater awareness of and connection with the Universe, the celestial fabric of which we are eternally woven.

    Whether we are moving through the walking meditation Energy Bagua or boarding a plane bound for earthly points of beauty and wonder, we are perpetually walking a path of adventure which never ceases to reveal untold layers of the self. As we step out of our comfort zone and meet the challenges that arise in our travels, we come to know our strengths and our fears, and we endeavor to keep our eyes on the stars. In his poem “A Walk,” Rilke wrote:

                              “ My eyes already touch the sunny hill,

                             going far ahead of the road I have begun.

                             So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;

                             it has its inner light, even from a distance – ”

     The journey through life asks that we flow with Natural Law, let go of rigid expectations, and practice gratitude, forgiveness, self-love and love of others as we strive to grasp that Divine “inner light” on Rilke’s “sunny hill,” a light that reveals to us our own innate Divinity.

      This issue of Meditation & Health takes us on spiritual adventures. Bask in the mystical peace of Nara, Japan. Be inspired by the travels of Paramahansa Yogananda, who spread Eastern philosophy in the West. We also share the stories of people whose journey to Bodhi Meditation led them to peace, happiness and renewed health. And we offer tips on bone health and information about spontaneous fasting, so that a healthy body may take us on whatever paths we choose to embark upon.

      Grandmaster JinBodhi says, “Only after letting go of everything can one gain immense peace, ease and freedom, which together result in wisdom.”Let go, and embrace the adventure that is your life. Travel home to your own Divinity.
