The Beauty of Prostration


I had been overweight since about age 30, tipping the scales at 58 kilograms. My attempts at weight loss included weight-loss pills, yoga. jogging, and sauna baths. I even replaced my lunch with coffee. Although each attempt helped me shed about two kilograms, the weight rapidly returned. A slimmer physique seemed permanently unobtainable.

Feeling Young Again

In July 2014 a friend urged me to attend Bodhi Meditation’s transformational 8.5-Day Health & Happiness Retreat. My interest in the retreat was sparked by an urge for spiritual elevation.

During the retreat I learned full prostration and felt a sense of peacefulness. At the same time, the back pain which I had been suffering for years ever since giving birth was alleviated. I decided to make half an hour of full prostration a part of my daily routine. Six months into the practice, I was 10 kilograms lighter. I was surprised and overjoyed to. at long last, be shopping for medium-size clothing.

Full prostration has given me my ideal weight of 48 kilograms. My complexion is radiant and my muscles are toned, reflecting great health and energy. Many of my friends are astounded at the changes in me. I am going to be 70 soon, but I feel reborn.

Repent Wrongdoings

During my full prostration practices I repent my wrongdoings. In the process, I am relaxed and at peace. I used to raise my voice at my family members but now I respond with calmness. My family has since become much more cohesive and harmonious.

I am deeply grateful to Grandmaster JinBodhi as well as for the opportunity to learn prostration. I am currently a volunteer with Singapore Bodhi Meditation Center, helping in the Introductory Course for Full Prostration. My friends are now practicing Bodhi Meditation. My wish is for people everywhere to experience the benefits of full prostration.
