Editor’s Words

For many, the relentless demands of the modern world mean disconnection, a damaging separation from people, from Nature, and from themselves. As we rush about trying to “get ahead” and “have it all,” we experience sadness, confusion, loneliness, and anxiety. The disruption to our natural rhythms and the alienation from our spiritual self take a devastating toll – on the physical body, the emotional and mental selves, and the soul.

The great sage Lao-tzu wrote in his classic wisdom text Tao Te Ching, “The world is a sacred vessel that cannot be changed. He who changes it will destroy it. He who seizes it will lose it.” As people strive for worldly success at an enormous cost to their health and the wellbeing of Mother Earth, Lao-tzu’s wisdom becomes an urgent call for a return to simplicity and balance. In our new column “Timeless Wisdom,” we bring his profound philosophies and their relevance to the modern era to our global readership.

Grandmaster JinBodhi shares his heartfelt teaching on Energy Bagua practices and full prostration to help bring the body back to a state of vitality, that it may achieve optimal health and an ideal weight. Quieting our mind through meditation allows us to fathom the importance of treating our parents and ancestors with the deepest sincerity and gratitude.

When a person’s mind and body are in accordance with Nature’s wise cycles, their wellness is revealed through the radiance of the facial features. We bring you glowing stories of Bodhi Meditation practitioners who are living fitter, slimmer lives than they ever thought possible thanks to the power of deep, contemplative focus.
